DOTS is an impact and output driven event format. It is a combination of innovative formats and methodologies kicking off and scaling up collaborative (South-to-South) projects. DOTS 2020 will be a virtual event bringing together communities all around the world in times of COVID-19. DOTS brings together people interested in impact driven innovation, emancipatory technology, open source, and maker culture. Dots will be hosting workshops, meetups, panels as well as sharing music, movement and making sure you stay connected.
The CoRD, a proud member of the Global Innovation Gathering community, is proud to be a partner of DOTS in 2020. We are excited to participate in DOTS this year. We will be hosting post event workshop just before the end of this years and several meetups next year. We will share details of the events as soon as we have confirmed dates.
DOTS is organised by Global Innovation Gathering. (GIG) is a vibrant, diverse community of innovation hubs, makerspaces, hackerspaces and other grassroot innovation community spaces and initiatives as well as individual innovators, makers, technologists and changemakers. GIG is pursuing a new vision for global cooperation based on equality, openness and sharing. It aims at enabling more diversity in the production of technology, and global innovation processes and support open and sustainable solutions developed by grassroot innovators. It aims at representing members interests by acting as an interface between governments, donors and innovation spaces. GIG provides a connection and entry point for partners, encouraging an open dialogue around developing suitable programs and support structures.
DOTS is looking forward to connecting attendees of the summit with hubs, makers, and innovators who will be sharing their work experiences and ideas on how to navigate the Corona-Crisis and support local communities with open technologies. The annual convention of innovators from around the world will be taking place on December 10th and 11th.
